FundGuard, a predictive financial analytics startup with offices in New York and Tel Aviv, had been operating in stealth while building a cloud‑based platform to manage investment funds across mutual funds, hedge funds, insurance and pension assets. The company describes itself as the world’s first AI‑powered cloud platform to bring investment‑fund technology out of the ‘digital ice age.’

In early 2023 the founders decided to raise a $4 million seed round led by Blumberg Capital and LionBird. The financing will be used to speed up product development, hire additional R&D and sales staff in the United States and Israel, and help fund managers lower operational costs and total cost of ownership by leveraging AI and new workflow tools.

Secured $4M seed funding to speed platform development, expand team in US and Israel, and reduce costs for investment fund managers.

Legacy investment‑fund technology cannot support today’s trade volumes and business requirements.

Growing competition from low‑fee ETFs and robo‑advisors puts pressure on management fees.

AI and automation offer a path to improve operational efficiency and transparency for fund administrators.

Expanding the team in key markets will accelerate sales and product adoption.

Investor validation provides the resources needed to leave stealth and reach customers.

Early-stage funding can enable deep‑tech startups to leave stealth, accelerate product development, hire key talent, and deliver cost‑saving technology to customers.

After closing the round, FundGuard reported having 11 employees and expects to nearly double headcount over the next year. The company plans to use the funding to accelerate development of its AI‑powered platform, expand its sales and R&D presence in the U.S. and Israel, and help investment‑fund managers reduce costs and improve efficiency.
